John W. Eschmann was born on January 20, 1921. He served in the Headquarters, US Air Force, Mediterranean, as a Sergeant and Radio Operator on the B-25 #43-3450 during World War II. He was Killed in Action on February 6, 1945, when his airplane crashed in the woods near Chatel-Montagne in France. His flight has originated in Italy, and around 2:30 PM, his aircraft experienced mechanical failure leading to a crash. All men aboard the plane were killed in this incident.

Sgt Eschmann is now buried in the Marietta National Cemetery, Marietta, Cobb County, Georgia, USA.
