Albert Mingo was a 29-year-old civilian from New Orleans who was a passenger aboard the merchant ship Quiz. During the War of 1812, he was captured and held as a prisoner of war at Dartmoor Prison in Princetown, England. Mingo died on October 25, 1814, with pneumonia recorded as his cause of death. He was buried at the American Prisoner of War Cemetery in Dartmoor Forest, Devon, England.
