Billy Bate Bryan was born on May 18, 1922, in Waco, Texas. He was the son of John D Bryan and Frankie Evlyn McCoy Bryan.
Billy served in the 313th Fighter Squadron, 50th Fighter Group, as a Captain and Fighter Pilot during World War II. He was a passenger aboard Cessna Bobcat UC-78 #43-7528 when he was killed on July 2, 1944, in a plane crash in England. They were on a transport flight from Carentan to Chilbolton when his aircraft experienced an engine failure and crashed close to St. Mark's Church in Ampfield, England, killing all on board.
Cpt Bryan is now buried in the Oak Hill Cemetery, Cameron, Milam County, Texas, USA.
