Jonathan Paul was a 30-year-old seaman from Charlestown who served aboard the merchant ship Impressed. During the War of 1812, he was captured and held as a prisoner of war at Dartmoor Prison in Princetown, England. Paul died on March 9, 1815, with no cause of death recorded. He was buried at the American Prisoner of War Cemetery in Dartmoor Forest, Devon, England.
