Austin Bertram Richards was born in 1910 in Wendron, Cornwall, England. He was the son of Olive M. Richards, husband of Beatrice Richards, of Los Angeles, California, U.S.A.
Austin served in the Royal Regiment of Canada, R.C.I.C., as a Private during World War II. He was Killed in Action in the Dieppe Raid in France on August 19, 1942, and he is now buried in the Dieppe Canadian War Cemetery, France
