Walter Lewis Floyd was born in 1906 in Indiana. He was the son of Chase S. and Pearl Floyd, of Rushville, Indiana, U.S.A.; grandson of Katherine French, of Rushville.
Walter served in the Essex Scottish Regiment, R.C.I.C., as a Private during World War II. He was Killed in Action in the Dieppe Raid in France on August 19, 1942, and he is now buried in the Dieppe Canadian War Cemetery, France
