Peter M. Trunzo was born on July 11, 1924, in Pennsylvania. He resided in Alameda County, California, prior to the war. He enlisted in the Army on April 1, 1943, in San Francisco, California. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being Single, without dependents.

Peter served in the 863rd Bomber Squadron, 493rd Bomber Group, Heavy, as a Technical Sergeant and Radio Operator on the B-17G #43-38355 during World War II. He was Killed in Action when his B-17 was attacked by German aircraft and crashed in Ueplingen, west of Magdeburg, Germany.

TSgt Trunzo is now buried in the Golden Gate National Cemetery, San Bruno, San Mateo County, California.
