Frank B. O'Rourke was born on January 2, 1919, in Pennsylvania. He was the son of Bartholomew O'Rourke.
Frank resided in Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania, prior to the war. He enlisted in the Army Air Corps on July 3, 1941, prior to the war, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being employed as a payroll clerk and also as Single, without dependents.
Frank served in the 860th Bomber Squadron, 493rd Bomber Group, H860th Bomber Squadron, 493rd Bomber Group, Heavy, as a Sergeant and Radar Operator on the B-17 #44-6513 during World War II. He was Killed in Action on April 9, 1945, when his airplane was hit by an enemy flak and crashed near Munich, Germany. All men aboard were killed as a result of the crash.
Sgt O'Rourke is now buried in the Holy Cross Cemetery, Yeadon, Delaware County, Pennsylvania, USA.
