Ernest Elwood Comstock was born on January 16, 1891, in Sterling, Illinois. He was the son of Albert James Comstock and Illie May Pigg Comstock.
Ernest served in the Transportation Corps as a Corporal during World War I. He was killed in Issoudun, France, on February 24, 1919. He was one of the 171 American servicemen who trained at the Third Aviation Instruction Center in France and died between 1917-1919. Cpl Comstock is now buried in the Elm Lawn Memorial Park, Elmhurst, DuPage County, Illinois, USA.
