William M. Faulk was born on March 4, 1890. He was the son of Patrick Henry Faulk and Ella Mae McCauley Faulk.

William's early training was at the ground school at the University of Texas at Austin, and his course was completed in France. He was a Second Lieutenant of the 3rd Aero Squadron. He died in Issoudun, France, on November 13, 1918, when an airplane which he was flying collapsed. 2Lt Faulk is now buried in the Grandview Cemetery, Bloomfield, Greene County, Indiana, USA.
