Clinton Rice Madison was born on September 11, 1895, in Petaluma, California. He was the son of John Henry Madison and Charlotte Rice Madison.
At the time of his enlistment, Clinton was a student at the University of California. During World War I, he was serving in the US Army Air Service as a Second Lieutenant. Clinton was killed in an airplane accident in France on November 4, 1918, and is now buried in the Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Arlington County, Virginia, USA. He was one of the 171 American servicemen who trained at the Third Aviation Instruction Center in France and died between 1917-1919.
