Benjamin Wohl was born in 1897. He was the son of Peter Wohl and Anna Gladstone Wohl.
Benjamin was a graduate of Evanston High school, the St. Charles Military school, and had studied at Northwestern University and the University of Chicago for law.
Commissioned as Second Lieutenant in June 1918, Wohl served in the Air Service during World War I. He was killed in an airplane accident in Issoudun, France, on October 2, 1918, and is now buried in the Forest Home Cemetery, Forest Park, Cook County, Illinois, USA. 2Lt Wohl was one of the 171 American servicemen who trained at the Third Aviation Instruction Center in France and died between 1917-1919.
