2) Jesse Martin Hawkins, Jr. was born on December 19, 1910, in Iron County, Missouri. He was the son of Jesse Martin Hawkins and Josie Hawkins. He served in the HQ Company of the 2nd Armored Division as a Lieutenant Colonel during World War II. LTC Hawkins was killed by German soldiers in Le Fay-Saint-Quentin, France, on August 31, 1944, and is now buried in the United States Military Academy Post Cemetery, West Point, Orange County, New York, USA.
