Roger Sheridan Pancoast was born on June 11, 1918, in Wilmington, New Castle County, Delaware. He was the son of Roger C. Pancoast and was the husband of Lillian C. Curtin Kee.
He enlisted in the Army on October 23, 1941, at Fort Dix, New Jersey. He was noted as being employed as a mechanic and also as being Single, without dependents at the time of his enlistment.
He served in the 695th Armored Field Artillery Battalion as a Sergeant during World War II. Sgt Pancoast was killed on August 7, 1944, in Pont-Scorff, France, and is now buried in the Brittany American Cemetery, Montjoie Saint Martin, France.
