Arthur N. Pett was born on August 15, 1917, in Oxon Hill, Prince George's County, Maryland. He resided in Prince George's County, Maryland, prior to the war.

Arthur enlisted in the Army on May 13, 1941, in Baltimore, Maryland. He was noted as being employed as a Carpenter and also as Single, without dependents. At the time of his death, Arthur was serving in the 24th Armored Engineer Battalion, 4th Armored Division, as a Staff Sergeant. He was killed in Pont-Scorff, France, on August 7, 1944, and is now buried in the Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Arlington County, Virginia, USA.
