Louie Clyde Free, of Wayne County, Michigan, was born on December 7, 1911. He enlisted in the Army on July 14, 1943, and at the time of his death, was serving in the HQ Company, 704th Tank Destroyer Battalion, as a Private. He was killed in Pont-Scorff, France, on August 7, 1944, and is now buried in the Mount Hope Cemetery, Dahlonega, Lumpkin County, Georgia, USA.
