Marvin Thomson Goff, of Angleton, texas, was born in 1918. He served in the 713th Bomber Squadron, 448th Bomber Group, Heavy, as a Second Lieutenant and Bombardier on the B-24 110087 during World War II.

On April 1, 1944, his crew took off from Station 146 airfield in Seething, England, for mission #287. During their return flight, they were attacked by enemy fighters. Around 1:12 PM, due to lack of fuel, the crew abandoned their plane. All members survived except for the mechanic whose parachute failed to open. 2Lt Goff was one of the 152 allied airmen and soldiers who were helped and hidden in the Freteval Forest camp by the French Resistance to evade German capture.
