Clyde Adair Tucker, Jr. was born on September 23, 1920. At the time of his death, Lieutenant Tucker was serving in the VB-4 Squadron aboard the USS Ranger. He was Killed in Action on October 4, 1943, during the Operation Leader in Bodo, Norway. It is believed that he died on impact when his plane crashed into the water after being hit by anti-aircraft fire.

Lt Tucker's body went missing, and his name is memorialized on the Tablets of the Missing, Cambridge American Cemetery, Cambridge, United Kingdom. His remains were subsequently found and are now buried in the Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Arlington County, Virginia, USA.
