Reginald H. Miller was the son of Clayton Galveston Miller and Eunice Jones Miller. At the time of his death, AMM1C Miller was serving in the VT-4 Squadron aboard the USS Ranger. He was Killed in Action on October 4, 1943, during the Operation Leader in Bodo, Norway. A crew member of an aircraft piloted by Lt(JG) John H. Palmer, ART1C Zalom was killed in the crash of their plane after being hit by anti-aircraft fire.

Miller's body was never found. His name is memorialized on Tablets of the Missing, Cambridge American Cemetery, Cambridge, United Kingdom.
