He was the son of Jack and Nora Hollers Carrigan. He married Nova Agnes Troxell in 1943. He entered the service on Sept 8 , 1944 and went overseas on Feb. 1945. He was attached to the 18th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division as a Private. He served in Scotland, England, France and Belgium before going into Germany where he fought in several battles. He was Killed in action in the vicinity of Edenbach, Germany while serving with Lt. General Hodges' First Army.
