Grady Lee Robbins was born on March 4, 1917, in Hampton, Calhoun County, Arkansas. He was the son of Eley L. Robbins and Louise Duncan Robbins.
Grady served in HQ/3, 504th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division, as a Sergeant during World War II. He died on September 21, 1944, during Operation Market Garden while or after participating in the Waal River crossing, the heroic crossing that liberated Nijmegen, The Netherlands. He was one of the 49 paratroopers killed during the assault on German positions on the opposite bank. Sgt Robbins is now buried in the Enid Cemetery, Enid, Garfield County, Oklahoma, USA.
