Bernard Tecumseh Woodland was born on August 22, 1920, in Baltimore, Baltimore City, Maryland. He enlisted in the Army on August 8, 1942, in Baltimore, Maryland. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being employed as a welder and also as Single, without dependents.
Bernard served in Company C, 504th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division, as a Corporal, during World War II. He died from his wounds received in battle on September 24, 1944, during the battle at Nijmegen, Holland (The Netherlands). Cpl Woodland is now buried in the Henri-Chapelle American Cemetery, Hombourg, Belgium.
