Gilbert B. Hall was born on January 10, 1916, in Monroe, Orange County, New York. He was the son of Frederick C. Hall and Bessie D. Board LaPrejato.

Gilbert served in the 922nd Engineer Aviation Regiment during World War II. He was Killed in Action on August 29, 1944, during a reconnaissance of Le Bourget field in France. He is now buried in the Normandy American Cemetery, Colleville-Sur-Mer, France.
