Joseph R. De Zenzo was born in 1919 in New Jersey. He was the son of Frank Dezenzo and Anna Anderson Dezenzo.

Joseph served in the 179th Infantry Regiment, 45th Infantry Division, as a Private First Class during World War II. He was Killed in Action on September 1, 1944, during the Liberation of Meximieux, France. PFC De Zenzo is now buried in the Rhone American Cemetery and Memorial, France.
