Seth Shiloh Glasscock was born on June 19, 1913, in Milam County, Texas. He was the son of Seth Shiloh Glasscock and Lydia Thomas Glasscock. Seth married Maud G. Curtis in January 1942 in Carlisle, Cumberland, England.

He served in the 416 Squadron of the Royal Canadian Air Force as a Flight Sergeant during World War II. He was shot down over the English Channel aboard Spitfire Vb BL893 on June 27, 1942. His aircraft was seen emitting black smoke and then was seen to fall into the sea seven miles off Little Hampton, England.
