Harold Insdorf was born on September 1, 1920, in New Jersey. He was the son of Hyman Insdorf and Lillie Insdorf.

Harold served in the 366th Bomber Squadron, 305th Bomb Group, Heavy, as a Staff Sergeant and Ball Turret Gunner on the B-17 #42-3195 during World War II. He was Killed in Action on October 14, 1943, when his airplane was shot down by a German fighter plane Ofw. Heckmann 1./JG1 and crashed at Waldenrath, Germany. He is now buried in the Beth-El Cemetery, Paramus, Bergen County, New Jersey, USA.
