Eddie Wayne Harding was born on September 28, 1924, in Tolono, Champaign County, Illinois. He had two years of high school and was single without dependents upon enlistment. He enlisted in Peoria, Illinois, on October 12, 1942.

Eddie served in Company C, 2nd Ranger Battalion, as a PFC during World War II. He was declared MIA on June 6, 1944, at Pointe de la Perc�e, during the American assault on Omaha beach in France. PFC Harding is memorialized on Tablets of the Missing, Normandy American Cemetery, Colleville-Sur-Mer, France.
