Frank Joseph Kosina was born on October 2, 1921, in Berwyn, Cook County, Illinois. He was the son of John Anton Kosina and Josephine C. Samec Kosina.
Frank was employed by the American Phenolic Company prior to his enlistment. He served in the Headquarters Company of the 2nd Ranger Battalion, as a Private during World War II. He was Killed in Action on June 6, 1944, at the age of 22, in Vierville-sur-Mer, during the American assault on Omaha beach in France. Pvt Kosina is now buried in the Mount Auburn Memorial Park, Stickney, Cook County, Illinois, USA.
