William David Myers was born on May 6, 1915, in Ringsted, Emmet County, Iowa. He was the son of Henry Errol Myers and Frances Emily Soper Myers.
William served in Company C, 2nd Ranger Battalion, as a Private First Class during World War II. He was Killed in Action on June 6, 1944, at the age of 29, during the American assault on Omaha beach in France. He is now buried in the Normandy American Cemetery, Colleville-Sur-Mer, France.
