Robert Joseph “Bobby” Raymond was born on March 7, 1920, in New York. He was the husband of Margaret Elizabeth Byron Terrusa.

He had four years of high school, had a civil occupation as a semiskilled mechanic and repairman of motor vehicles, and was married upon enlistment. He was employed by New Haven Railroad prior to his enlistment.

Robert entered military service at Camp Upton, Yaphank, New York. He served in Company C, 2nd Ranger Battalion, as a Sergeant during World War II. He was Killed in Action on June 6, 1944, at the age of 24, at Pointe de la Percée, during the American assault on Omaha Beach in France. Sgt Raymond is now buried in the Normandy American Cemetery, Colleville-Sur-Mer, France.
