Rolland Frederick Revels was born on August 9, 1921, in Oxford, Marquette County, Wisconsin. He was the son of Ellsworth L. Revels and Emma Christie Crown Revels.
Rolland had a grammar school education, had a civil occupation as a farm hand, and was single without dependents upon enlistment. He was employed by Mr. E. L. Revels prior to his enlistment. He entered military service in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Rolland served in the HQ Company of the 2nd Ranger Battalion, as a Private during World War II. He was Killed in Action on June 6, 1944, at the age of 22, in Vierville-sur-Mer, during the American assault on Omaha Beach in France. Pvt Revels is now buried in the Normandy American Cemetery, Colleville-Sur-Mer, France.
