Ollie Dee Richardson was born on April 28, 1920, in Linden, Perry County, Tennessee. He was the son of William Alvin Richardson and Mary Belle Inman Richardson.

Ollie had a grammar school education, had a civil occupation as a farmhand, and was single with dependents upon enlistment. He entered military service at Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia. He served in Company B, 2nd Ranger Battalion, as a Private First Class during World War II. He was Killed in Action on June 6, 1944, at the age of 24, in Vierville-sur-Mer, during the American assault on Omaha Beach in France. PFC Richardson is now buried in the Harder Cemetery #02, Perry County, Tennessee, USA.
