                            Raymond Joseph Riendeau was born on November 24, 1920, in Pawtucket, Providence County, Rhode Island. He was the son of Marcel J. Riendeau and Lena Purcell Riendeau.
Raymond had three years of high school and had a civil occupation as a semiskilled in the machine shop and related occupations. He entered military service in Providence, Rhode Island. He served in Company D, 2nd Ranger Battalion, as a Technician 5th Grade during World War II. He was Killed in Action on June 6, 1944, at the age of 23, at Pointe du Hoc, during the American assault on Omaha and Utah beaches in France. T5 Riendeau is now buried in the Notre Dame Cemetery, Pawtucket, Providence County, Rhode Island, USA.
