George Alfred Wieburg was born on July 4, 1920. He was the son of John Andrew Wieburg and Mary Maybelle Dean Allen.

George entered military service on October 1, 1942. He served in Company F, 2nd Ranger Battalion, as a Private First Class during World War II. He was Killed in Action on June 6, 1944, at the age of 23, at Pointe du Hoc, during the American assault on Omaha and Utah beaches in France. PFC Wieburg is now buried in the Veterans Cemetery, Pekin, Tazewell County, Illinois, USA.
