Peter Prime was born on July 21, 1913, in Knox, Starke County, Indiana. He was the son of Orton L. Prime and of Alice Wild Prime, of Oconomowoc, Wisconsin. He was the husband of Helen Frances Prime.
Before serving in the Royal Canadian Air Force, Peter served in Troop K. 101st Cavalry Regiment ( Squadron A). Then, he enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force in February 1941 and received his pilot wings in December. He was sent to England soon after receiving his wings. He was a veteran of numerous bombing raids over Cologne, Essen, Bremen, and many other locations.
He was killed in action on August 1, 1942, when his bomber was shot down and crashed in the North Sea.
