George Cooley Bailey was born on November 13, 1922, in Pound Ridge, Westchester County, New York. He was the son of Vernon N. Bailey and Sarah Cooley Bailey of New Canaan, Connecticut.
George served in the 49 Squadron of the Royal Canadian Air Force as a Flight Lieutenant during World War II. he was Killed in Action on November 22, 1943, during his mission in Berlin, Germany. His body was never recovered.
