James Gibson Connor was born on August 4, 1911, in Edinburgh, City of Edinburgh, Scotland. He was the son of James and Annie Connor; husband of Celia Connor, of Cleveland, Ohio.
James served in the 51 Squadron of the Royal Canadian Air Force during World War II. He was declared dead on October 2, 1943, when his Halifax aircraft #LW 287 failed to return from a mine-laying operation in the Baltic Sea, presumed enemy action. His body was never recovered.
