Comments:

Benjamin Campbell Harvey was born on February 10, 1921, in Winchester, Middlesex County, Massachusetts. He was the son of George S. Harvey and Madelene D. Harvey, of Medford, Massachusetts.

Benjamin served in the 1483 (Bombing) Gunnery Flight of the Royal Canadian Air Force as a Flight Sergeant during World War II. Aboard the Vickers Wellington III (Z1747) on March 30, 1943, his crew took at 1000hrs from RAF Marham in Norfolk, England, on a cine camera exercise. Because of an unexpected structural failure in the aircraft, the starboard wing suddenly broke away, and the Wellington crashed between Marham and Barton Bendish, Norfolk; all nine airmen perished in this accident.
