Leo Joseph Pineault was born on January 12, 1910, in Fall River, Bristol County, Massachusetts. He was the son of Alfred Grover Pineault and Alphonsine Berube.
Leo attended local schools and worked as a messenger boy for two local telegraph companies prior to his enlistment in the United States Navy on October 25, 1933. He was executed on the beach on December 10, 1941, during the Japanese invasion of Guam.
