Phil Leeds, of Cleveland, Ohio, was the son of Maurice and Rose Leibovitz. He served in the 101 (R.A.F.) Squadron of the Royal Canadian Air Force as a Flying Officer during World War II. He was Killed in Action on November 6, 1944, when his Lancaster aircraft # PB 692 was shot down at Friedhof, Germany, during a daylight operation against Gelsenkirchen, Germany.
