Francis William Connor Jr. was born on May 9, 1924, in Haverhill, Massachusetts, to Francis William Connor Sr. and Helen Elizabeth Hussey. Francis worked at Engel-Lewis Counter Co. before enlisting in the U.S. Air Force in 1942. He was admitted and began his training as a radar operator.

After completing his training, Francis was assigned to the 790th Bomb Squadron, 467th Bomb Group, stationed at RAF Rackheath in England. From here, Francis and his crew flew several missions against Germany.

During Francis' last mission, he managed to leave the aircraft in time. Francis was soon captured and taken to a prisoner-of-war camp where he served the rest of the war.

After the liberation, Francis returned to America. Here he lived with his aunt Mary Hussey and her children Katherine, Helen, and James in the 1950s. In 1948, Francis married Dorothy Julie Hillner. In 1974, Francis married Joyce Connor. Francis had three children.

Francis worked as a postal worker and in his spare time, he could often be found on the golf course. Francis died on June 5, 2002, in Barefoot Bay, Florida.
