He served in the 787th Bomber Squadron, 466th Bomber Group, Heavy, as a Second Lieutenant and Co-Pilot on the B-24 #42-95084 “Bird Dog” during World War II. He was Killed in Action on July 13, 1944, when his aircraft crashed in the village of Tunstall, in the parish of Halvergate, England.
