William Frederick “Bill” Nicol was born on April 12, 1921, at sea on the H.R.M.S. Saxonia. He was the son of William Alexander Wallace Nicol and May Louisa Lenney Nicol.
William Frederick served in the #576 Squadron of the Royal Canadian Air Force as a Flying Officer during World War II. He was killed on March 17, 1945, when his Lancaster aircraft #PD 785 did not return from a night trip to Nuremberg, Germany.
