Leslie Lee Petry, of Seattle, Washington, was born on August 13, 1920, in Blackfalds, Red Deer Census Division, Alberta, Canada. He was the son of George William Petry and Rachel Amanda Biddle Petry. He was the husband of Lillian Ellen Sayer Petry.
Leslie served in the #1659 Heavy Conversion Unit of the Royal Canadian Air Force as a Flight Sergeant during World War II. He died on January 19, 1944, when his Halifax aircraft # R 9386 aircraft crashed on January 18, 1944, after the port outer engine failed. The aircraft crashed three-quarters of a mile southeast of the aerodrome at Topcliffe, Yorkshire.
