Arndt Walther Reif was born in May 1915, in Edmonton, Edmonton Census Division, Alberta, Canada. He was the son of Arndt Johannes and Margarite (nee Walther) Reif; and stepson of Emmy Reif, of Baker, Oregon, United States.
Arndt Walther served in the 582 (R.A.F.) Squadron of the Royal Canadian Air Force as a Flight Lieutenant during World War II. He was Killed in Action on December 23, 1944, when his Lancaster aircraft #PB 120 missing during daylight operations against Cologne, Germany.
