Albert Andrew Tschantre was born on November 23, 1916, in Thomasville, Thomas County, Georgia. He was the son of Reynold Robert Tschantre and Freda Szigetkozy Tschantre.

Alber served in the 408 Squadron of the Royal Canadian Air Force as a Flight Sergeant during World War II. He was Killed in Action on April 17, 1943, when his Halifax aircraft # JB 925 went down thirty miles north of Saarbrucken at Bierfeld, Germany. He is now buried in the Rheinberg War Cemetery in Germany and has a cenotaph in Riverside Cemetery, Knoxville, Pennsylvania.
