Robert Potter Wilson was born on May 1, 1917, in Loretto, Cambria County, Pennsylvania. He was the son of Douglas Henry and Hannah B. (nee Potter) Wilson, of Bronxville, New York.
Robert served in the 419 Squadron of the Royal Canadian Air Force as a Flight Sergeant during World War II. He was declared Missing in Action on February 18, 1943, when his Halifax aircraft # DT 639 was lost while laying mines in the Frisian Islands off the Dutch Coast.
