Samuel Zareikin was born on August 7, 1916, in Montreal, Montreal Region, Quebec, Canada. He was the son of David and Pola Zareikin, of Los Angeles, California.
Samuel served in the 102 (R.A.F.) Squadron of the Royal Canadian Air Force as a Pilot Officer during World War II. He was Killed in Action on May 28, 1943, when his Halfix aircraft # JD 149 went missing, presumed over the target, presumed enemy action.
