Leslie Harris Berg was born on June 17, 1918, in Cottonwood, Lyon County, Minnesota. He was the son of Olaf S. Berg and Agnes Amelia Larson Berg.
He served in the Headquarters Company, 1st Battalion, 22nd Marine Regiment, 1st Provisional Marine Brigade, as a Corporal during World War II. He died from his wounds received in battle on July 21, 1944, during the Battle for Guam.
