James Kenneth Blake was born on April 17, 1925, in Sandyville, Jackson County, West Virginia. He was the son of James Everett Blake and Sarah Frances Duke Blake.
He served in Company C, 1st Battalion, 19th Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division as a Private First Class during World War II. He was Killed in Action on July 22, 1944, during the Battle for Guam.
